Top Tools for Social Media Management
Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are effective tools for salespeople to use to stay in touch with current clients and to approach new prospects. But it does take time to post, monitor and conduct conversations. Here are some of the top tools your sales team can use to manage their social media profiles, and improve their productivity.
1. Hootsuite
If you want to pre-schedule posts in advance and see what’s going on across several social media platforms in a single glance, Hootsuite is an excellent tool to use. Originally designed for Twitter, you can also post status updates to Facebook, LinkedIn (including groups), and Foursquare. You can organize information according to keywords, search terms, followers, news and other variables. Plus, it’s a great way to easily see who’s following you and who you’re following in one convenient place. There are free versions, and paid if you need to follow multiple accounts.
2. SproutSocial
This tool also integrates information from the same social networking platforms as Hootsuite. But you have to pay a monthly fee for access. You can post to multiple networks at once, track relevant keywords, filter results by news, blogs, etc. Plus, you can add/edit contact information, and view your contacts’ social media presence.
3. SocialOomph
This tool was designed primarily to manage Twitter, and it does that very well. You can schedule posts, submit updates via email, set up alerts and track keywords in the stream so you can follow what people are saying about your company. SocialOomph will also send you an email when your keywords or Twitter username is mentioned. You also have the option to automatically follow Twitter users who follow you, approve them first or reject them. The paid version allows you to schedule status updates to your Facebook page.
4. TweetDeck
TweetDeck was a very robust social media managing platform until Twitter bought it last year. You used to be able to post to LinkedIn and Foursquare, but now, you can just keep tabs on any number of Twitter accounts or your Facebook account. Features such as saved searches and auto updates can be used to streamline the online marketing process. You can set it so an alert sounds and/or window pops up when your Twitter username has been mentioned – allowing for you to make an immediate response. That is great for reputation monitoring. You can also customize your Twitter display with columns, groups, saved searches and automatic updates on the people and topics you care about.
